— Our Foundation

Built around the host community first.

Every structural decision — who designs programs, who holds authority, where money flows — was settled before the first traveler enrolled. That order is not incidental. It is the foundation.

/ Why We Exist

Tourism extracts. We designed the opposite.

The foundation started from a single observation: most travel programs are designed in the West and handed to communities as fait accompli. We reversed that. Partner communities define the need; we find the people who can meet it.

Long-term relationships — not one-off engagements — are how trust gets built. We hold ourselves to that by requiring multi-year partnership agreements before any program opens for enrollment.

Decisions are not made from this side of the border.

Structure & Accountability

Community seats on the board

Registered nonprofit, public filings

Host-led program design

Partner community representatives hold advisory board seats. Program approvals require their sign-off — not consultation after the fact.

We are a 501(c)(3). Annual financials are publicly filed and linked from every page on this site — no vague impact claims, just documented money flow.

Resident hosts co-author every itinerary. No program ships until the hosting community has reviewed, revised, and confirmed the final structure.

The People Behind It

A small staff. Deep partner relationships.

Our US-based team handles coordination, compliance, and traveler preparation. The substantive expertise lives with our partner communities — local coordinators, educators, and craft practitioners who shape what each program actually is.
